The White House has stated that there will be no unilateral reduction in tariffs on imports from China. In response, the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated, 'To keep asking for a deal while exerting extreme pressure is not the right way to deal with China and simply will not work.' The White House also reported progress with 18 drafted proposals involving other trading partners.
