Tesla China reported a strong performance in May 2024, with significant sales and registration figures. The company recorded 15,000 vehicle sales for the week of May 27 to June 2, marking a 14% week-over-week increase and a 3% year-over-year rise. Despite these gains, Tesla's year-to-date sales are down 4% compared to the previous year. The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) noted that Tesla's May sales rose 17% year-over-year but fell 6.5% month-over-month. Wholesale deliveries, including local deliveries and exports, reached 72,573 units in May, showing a 16.6% month-over-month increase but a 6.6% year-over-year decrease. The year-to-date gap in sales compared to 2023 has reduced to 7,100 vehicles, or 3.1%, for the third consecutive week. Additionally, insured units for the week of May 20-26 were 13,200.
