On the eve of the 35th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square crackdown, Hong Kong police detained multiple individuals in Causeway Bay. Artist Sanmu Chen, wearing a white shirt, was taken away after making gestures symbolizing '8964' with his fingers. Another elderly man, reportedly Benedict Wu, displayed posters relating to democracy and the Tiananmen crackdown before being taken away. Granny Wong was also detained after holding flowers and shouting, 'Redress June 4.' Additionally, a young man in a Che Guevara t-shirt, carrying a book of Xi Jinping's thoughts, was detained in Victoria Park. Reports indicate that at least six people have been detained in connection with the anniversary, although it is unclear if they have been formally arrested.
