China’s FM Lin Jian Urges Restraint from India and Pakistan After Operation Sindoor Amid Calls for Peace

In response to India's recent military action, Operation Sindoor, China has described the operation as "regrettable" and urged both India and Pakistan to remain calm and exercise restraint. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized the importance of avoiding actions that could further complicate the situation. China reiterated its opposition to all forms of terrorism and called on both countries to act in the larger interest of peace and stability. This statement comes amid heightened tensions following the operation, with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowing to avenge those killed in the Indian strike. China also noted that both India and Pakistan have expressed a desire to avoid escalation and encouraged dialogue and consultation to resolve differences. Other world powers, including Russia and France, have similarly called for restraint in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor.
