China Condemns CIA's Chinese-Language Recruitment Videos Targeting Officials, Vows Countermeasures

The Chinese government has strongly condemned the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for releasing two Chinese-language videos on social media aimed at recruiting Chinese officials to spy for the United States. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian described the CIA's actions as a "serious infringement on China's national interests" and a "naked political provocation." Beijing accused the CIA of attempting to lure Chinese personnel, including government officials, to steal state secrets and act as informants. The Chinese government further stated that these videos represent a confession of the CIA's long-standing practices of stealing classified information, interfering in internal affairs, and subverting governments. China has warned it will take necessary measures to counter foreign infiltration and sabotage activities. The CIA's recruitment campaign has drawn sharp rebukes from Beijing, which called on the U.S. to cease such espionage efforts and respect China's sovereignty.
