The Chicago White Sox have signed infielder/outfielder Michael Chavis to a minor league contract, per source. Chavis, 28, recently opted out of his deal with the Seattle Mariners. He has previously played in Major League Baseball for the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Washington Nationals, most recently appearing for Washington in 2023. Chavis, who has played in parts of five MLB seasons, will report to Triple-A Charlotte once he passes his physical.
