Michael Soroka, who was acquired by the Chicago White Sox in an effort to restore his rookie form from 2019, has been moved from the starting rotation to the bullpen. Soroka's recent performance included giving up five earned runs in 5.1 innings, with two home runs, one walk, and four strikeouts. Brad Keller will replace Soroka in the starting rotation. White Sox manager Pedro Grifol compared the move to a similar situation with Chris Flexen earlier in the season, indicating that Soroka is not necessarily out of the rotation for good.

Sox are moving Michael Soroka to the bullpen, with Brad Keller sliding into his place in the starting rotation. Pedro Grifol compared the situation to what Sox did with Chris Flexen earlier in the season and said Soroka isn’t necessarily out of the rotation for good.

Grifol said Brad Keller will take Soroka’s spot in rotation.
Two mistakes cost Michael Soroka. That said, White Sox didn’t score. From @K_Williamsmedia https://t.co/xXjqgOlU0T
I actually liked the thought process when the White Sox acquired Michael Soroka. He could have become a valuable trade chip if he had a good first half. It was worth the gamble. But he doesn’t have it anymore and Nick Nastrini should replace him in the rotation ASAP.
