Cook County prosecutors stated that Kassem told police 'they're gone' and 'I'm going to jail' after officers arrived. He is currently detained in jail. In a separate incident, a shooter in Queens, who killed a man and wounded three others, has been arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. Another man has been arrested for allegedly killing three people, including a young couple with a baby in the car.
