An extra-alarm fire broke out in an apartment building on the South Side in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. The fire escalated to a 2-11 alarm with all companies taking a defensive stance. Human services were requested for residents. Another fire was reported at a commercial building in the stockyards area, with a large volume of pallets burning on the loading dock. No injuries were reported in both incidents.
