Representatives for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom said on 3 July that the pair have ended their relationship and called off their six-year engagement. The statement confirmed that the singer and the actor, together since 2016, “have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, added that their shared priority remains raising their four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, “with love, stability and mutual respect,” and that they expect to continue appearing together as a family. Both intend to remain in Montecito, California, to preserve consistency for their child.
The couple met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016 and announced their engagement on Valentine’s Day 2019. Their wedding was postponed during the pandemic, and they welcomed Daisy in August 2020. The relationship had weathered earlier separations, including a brief split in 2017.
Public signs of strain surfaced last month: Bloom attended the Venice wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez alone on 26 June, while Perry fought back tears at the close of her Australian tour leg on 30 June. Sources close to the pair said the separation had been amicable and under discussion for several months.
