Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Confirm Split, Prioritize Co-Parenting

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially ended their relationship, their representatives said in a joint statement released to People magazine on 3 July. The confirmation follows nearly two weeks of media reports that the pair had called off their engagement after close to nine years together.

The statement said the couple had been “shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.” It added that Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, would “continue to be seen together as a family” because their shared priority “is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.” The former couple share four-year-old Daisy Dove Bloom.

Perry and Bloom began dating in 2016 after meeting at a Golden Globes after-party, briefly separated in 2017, and reconciled the following year. They became engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019, but never set a wedding date, and welcomed their daughter in 2020. Rumours of a split intensified in late June when Perry continued her Lifetimes world tour in Australia while Bloom attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s Venice wedding alone.
