Shortly after their move, reports emerged that the couple's 43-acre property had been flooded due to severe rainfall, with surrounding fields underwater. The flooding was described as the worst in years, caused by a local river overflowing its banks. DeGeneres was said to have attributed the flooding to climate change, reportedly stating, 'Mother Nature is not happy with us.' However, she has since denied that her home was affected by the floods.
