Recent polls reveal significant shifts in Canadian political landscapes both federally and provincially. A new Abacus Data Poll shows the Conservatives have opened up their largest lead yet in federal politics. Meanwhile, in Ontario, a Liaison poll indicates that the Progressive Conservatives (PCPO) lead with 40% (-1), followed by the Liberals (OLP) at 30% (+6), and the New Democratic Party (ONDP) at 18% (-6), with the Green Party of Ontario (GPO) at 5% (-1) and others at 6%. This shift suggests Crombie's growth for the OLP is primarily at the expense of the ONDP. Additionally, the poll, conducted with a margin of error (MOE) of 2.7% and 1280 respondents via Interactive Voice Response (IVR), highlights that half of Ontario residents oppose the carbon tax, prioritizing affordability over environmental concerns. Furthermore, 21% of Liberal voters from 2021 are now backing the Conservatives, with indications that many NDP voters are also turning to the Conservatives. Among younger voters aged 18-29, the Conservatives lead with 42%, followed by the Liberals at 23% and the NDP at 18%, according to an online Abacus Data poll with 329 respondents.

Big takeaway from this, 21% of Liberal voters in 2021 are now backing Poilievre and the Conservatives. The poll didn't appear to ask, but the numbers would suggest many NDP voters are also turning blue. https://t.co/VlKN7uUBUC
