Japanese publicly traded company Metaplanet has increased its Bitcoin holdings by purchasing an additional 555 BTC valued at approximately $53.4 million, bringing its total Bitcoin balance to 5,555 BTC. The company acquired the latest batch of Bitcoin at an average price of around $96,768 per BTC, with an overall average purchase price of $90,431. To finance further Bitcoin acquisitions, Metaplanet issued zero-coupon bonds worth $25 million. This move aligns with the company's ongoing strategy to bolster its Bitcoin treasury reserve amid easing US-China trade tensions.
