Igloo has expanded its recall of 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers to include an additional 130,000 units in the United States, bringing the total to nearly 1.2 million coolers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The recall was initiated by Igloo Products Corp., based in Katy, Texas, due to the tow handle's potential to pinch users' fingertips, posing risks of amputation and crushing.
Since the initial recall in February 2025, Igloo has reported 78 fingertip injuries, including 26 cases of fingertip amputations, bone fractures, or lacerations. The affected coolers were sold between January 2019 and January 2025 at major retailers such as Costco, Target, Academy, and Dick's Sporting Goods, as well as online at Amazon.com and Igloocoolers.com, with prices ranging from $80 to $140.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle. The recalled models include the Latitude 90 Qt Roller and MaxCold Latitude 90 Qt Roller, identifiable by model numbers and date codes on the cooler's bottom. For more information or to request a replacement handle, consumers can contact Igloo toll-free at 888-943-5182 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, email
