FC Porto and Cruz Azul have reached an agreement to resolve their dispute over the transfer of Argentine coach Martín Anselmi, who left Cruz Azul abruptly at the start of 2025 to join the Portuguese club.

Porto will pay Cruz Azul a total of 3.1 million euros (approximately 3.5 million dollars), covering 85% of the agreed amount immediately, with the remaining 15% to be paid by December. The payment also includes Anselmi's technical staff.

The settlement ends several months of legal conflict, which included complaints to FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) after Porto initially refused to pay the full five million dollar release clause stipulated in Anselmi's contract.

Both clubs negotiated directly, excluding Anselmi and his representative from the process. Porto also agreed to absorb related tax charges as part of the arrangement.

The agreement was confirmed in official statements and communications to regulatory authorities, bringing an end to the dispute over Anselmi's transfer.
