Wizz Air, a UK-based low-cost airline, has paid a total of £1.2 million in compensation to customers following flight disruption. The payments were made to around 6,000 passengers whose refund claims were initially rejected. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) intervened over the way Wizz Air handled the disruptions, resulting in additional payments to affected passengers. This move comes as the airline seeks to end enforcement action brought by the UK's aviation regulator. The government has also set aside £1 billion to compensate victims of the Horizon scandal.
