In a series of coordinated efforts across the UK, law enforcement agencies have made significant drug seizures and arrests. At Stansted Airport, Border Force officers seized two shipments of cannabis, totaling 390kg with a street value of £3.9 million, on 26 and 27 January. In separate operations, local police forces uncovered multiple cannabis farms. In the Coorong, officers found 98 cannabis plants across three crop sites. In Coventry, more than 400 cannabis plants were seized after a warrant was executed at a premises in Lockhurst Lane. Another operation in Washwood Heath resulted in the arrest of a man and the recovery of around 200 cannabis plants. Close to a school in Chorley, a cannabis farm with more than 100 plants, believed to be set up by an organised crime group, was discovered, leading to two arrests. Another farm in Chorley had around 150 plants. George Mbliamptis (22) and Valentine Kosi (22) have been charged in connection to the Chorley operation. Additionally, Bengaluru Air Customs intercepted a passenger attempting to smuggle 279.5 grams of crude gold, valued at Rs. 17,23,117, concealed inside a decorative incense burner container.
