Councils across the UK have raised concerns over delays in postal vote forms ahead of the general election. These delays could significantly impact the election results, as a substantial portion of votes are cast by post. In some constituencies, such as Sunderland, up to 50% of votes are expected to be postal, while in Runcorn, it is around 10%. The delays have prompted calls for a major review, particularly in Scotland, where the issue seems to be widespread. Voters in areas like south-east London and Lewisham West & East Dulwich have also reported not receiving their postal ballots less than a week before polling day. Authorities have advised those who have not received their postal vote packs by June 28 to contact their local elections team or OxfordCity.

Really concerned to learn residents in Lewisham West & East Dulwich have yet to receive postal ballots because of a delay in the postal service. Nobody should be disenfranchised in this election, and I have written urgently to Royal Mail on this 👇 https://t.co/OAAuoX0qWl

Not unreasonable to assume near a fifth of all votes have already been cast now. Postal voters. As much as 50% of all votes in Sunderland, 10% in Runcorn.

Why do broadcasters keep talking as if everyone votes on Thursday of next week? Getting on for a quarter of people of the voted will be cast by postal vote, which has been going on for 16 days now. Maybe 10-15% of electorate will have already voted.
It *is* weird how the postal vote thing isn't mentioned very much and it's all "just seven days until the nation can vote". In some constituencies 40% of votes are by post and a lot of them will already be returned! Election result could be already decided in a some places. https://t.co/1yE8O7n0J2
