A 31-year-old motorist, James Doyle, was jailed within 24 hours of his arrest for driving into flood waters while over the legal alcohol limit in North Bersted Street, Bognor. Sussex Police officers had to wade into the water to reach him. In a separate incident, a drug dealer was caught hiding bags of cocaine in a Lynx bottle under his car bonnet and subsequently jailed following a police pursuit on the A50 in Cheshire. Sussex Police officers also used kayaks to rescue a man who crashed into flood water while being over the legal drink-drive limit.
