The Met Office has issued yellow warnings for high winds in Scotland, with gusts ranging from 45-80mph. A rapidly deepening area of low pressure, named Storm Ingunn by the Norwegian Met Service, is expected to bring severe gales and stormy conditions to the region. The storm is set to undergo explosive cyclogenesis, potentially bringing gusts of up to 100mph to the west coast of Norway. Exceptionally high wind gusts, including a record 155mph gust in the Faroe Islands, have been reported. Red warnings for hurricane force winds and avalanches are in place in Norway.
