Conservative candidate Robert Largan is facing allegations of election fraud after releasing campaign materials that appear to present him as a Labour candidate. The adverts, which use Labour colours and branding, have sparked confusion and criticism. Largan has clarified that the posters were only used on Twitter and Facebook to promote his 'Labour for Largan' club and were not intended to deceive voters. He also has a Reform version of the campaign. Derbyshire Police are reviewing the election fraud claims. The Conservative Party maintains that the adverts comply with electoral law by carrying the required imprints.

Robert Lagan has messaged me to say the ‘poster’ has only been used on Twitter and Facebook in the context of promoting his “Labour for Lagan” club. It’s now clear it wasn’t actually an attempt to pretend he was a Labour candidate. Which wouldn’t have made much sense anyway.

This is insane. CONSERVATIVE candidate @robertlargan releases ‘Labour for Largan’ campaign. He has a Reform version too. And you have to go to the About section of his website to find out he’s a Conservative - no branding anywhere on the homepage. https://t.co/AdMwF1WUqL
