A new report from JL Partners Polls reveals that 40% of Labour's lead is composed of voters who are economically and socially conservative, often aligning more with Conservative values but voting Labour due to dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The poll indicates that a significant portion of these voters are motivated by a desire for change, with 57% believing that 'Britain needs a change' and 44% prioritizing the ousting of the Conservatives. Despite a brief improvement in his net favourability rating after calling the election, Sunak's popularity has declined again, with a net favourability rating of -48 as of May 30, down from -42 on May 24. Another poll by Lord Ashcroft suggests that more than half of voters have yet to definitively make up their minds, providing a potential opportunity for Sunak. However, the overall sentiment reflects a strong desire for new leadership, with voters backing key policies from both Sunak and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer but overwhelmingly favoring a change in government. The findings, dubbed 'Red Votes, Blue Values', were also reported by The Independent.
