The first-ever World Lewy Body Day was commemorated in Newcastle, with Chi Onwurah, MP for Newcastle Central and Shadow Minister, joining researchers, clinicians, and individuals affected by the disease at The Catalyst UK to raise awareness about Lewy body dementia. This form of neurodegenerative dementia, often misdiagnosed, is the second most common type. Organizations such as The Lewy Body Society (@LBSorg) and Alzheimer’s Research UK, including Senior Research Fellow Daniel Erskine, were present to share their expertise and support the initiative.
