A Roman helmet, described as 'bling' and heavily decorated from the mid 1st Century AD, was discovered by amateur archaeologists in a field near Hallaton over 20 years ago. This area is also known for the Hallaton hoard of 5,000 Iron Age coins. The helmet has now been rebuilt and is on display to the public. Additionally, an exquisitely preserved Bronze Age settlement that burned down 3,000 years ago offers insights into the lives of people in eastern England during that era.
