Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party, has unveiled a £100 million plan to tackle knife crime under a Labour government. Speaking with Roberto Perrone on Three Counties Radio during a visit to Milton Keynes, Starmer discussed the urgent need to address knife crime. The plan comes in the wake of the death of Ronan Kanda, a 16-year-old fatally stabbed with a sword purchased online just yards from his home, in a case of mistaken identity. Starmer met with Ronan's mother, Pooja Kanda, who supports a wider ban on the online sale of large bladed weapons. Additionally, Starmer highlighted the role of parents in preventing anti-social behavior and knife carrying, proposing to end 'apology letters' that let youths with blades dodge charges.
