The Home Office has released revised figures indicating that 35,686 asylum seekers were being accommodated in hotels as of the end of March this year, a 25% increase from previously disclosed numbers. In Ireland, more than 100 refugees are set to be housed in a 300-year-old listed Georgian property in north Cork, which previously operated as an award-winning hotel and guest house with 20 elegant suite bedrooms and a standalone cottage with seven. Additionally, asylum seekers have been moved after camping across the road from Leinster House. RTÉ reports that each week for the next three weeks, between 30 and 40 people in designated accommodation centres are due to reach the 90-day limit.
