Water testing has revealed alarmingly high levels of E.coli bacteria from sewage in the River Thames, where the Henley Royal Regatta is set to take place next week. An anti-pollution campaign group, RiverActionUK, has warned that the high levels of E.coli make the water unsafe for swimming. The presence of E.coli has raised concerns for the safety of elite rowers who are scheduled to compete in the historic and international event. The findings were reported on June 28.
