Oghenochuko 'Ochuko' Ojiri, a 53-year-old art expert known for his appearances on the BBC's 'Bargain Hunt' and 'Antiques Road Trip', has pleaded guilty to eight counts of failing to disclose financial activity under the Terrorism Act 2000. The charges relate to his failure to report transactions in the regulated art market sector between October 2020 and December 2021.

The Metropolitan Police's investigation revealed that Ojiri sold artwork valued at approximately £140,000 to Nazem Ahmad, a man designated by US authorities as a suspected financier for Hezbollah. Ojiri was aware of Ahmad's US sanctions and had discussed them with others, yet he did not properly act upon the regulatory changes introduced in January 2020 that brought the art market under HMRC supervision.

Ojiri, who founded the Ramp Gallery and has not worked on BBC programs since 2023, was granted bail and is scheduled for sentencing at the Old Bailey on June 6. This is the first prosecution under section 21A of the Terrorism Act 2000 related to Hezbollah-linked terror financing.
