The Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF) has begun a virtual plenary session to judge Deputy Carla Zambelli and hacker Walter Delgatti for the alleged invasion of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) systems and falsification of documents. The trial, which started on Friday, May 9, 2025, is set to conclude by May 16 unless there is a request for a review or a highlight.

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the rapporteur of the case, voted to condemn Zambelli to 10 years in prison and the loss of her parliamentary mandate, while proposing an 8-year and 3-month sentence for Delgatti. Both are accused of cyber attacks and inserting false documents into the CNJ's systems, including a fraudulent arrest warrant against Moraes himself. They are also required to pay a fine of R$ 2 million.

The invasions occurred between August 2022 and January 2023, targeting six systems of the Judiciary 13 times and inserting 16 false documents. The Procurator-General of the Republic (PGR) alleges that Zambelli orchestrated the attacks with the intent to undermine the credibility of the Judiciary and gain political advantages. The defense for Zambelli claims there is no solid evidence linking her to the crimes, relying solely on Delgatti's statements, whom they describe as a habitual offender. Delgatti's defense, however, admits his involvement but states it was motivated by a job promise from Zambelli.
