An aerial survey team with NOAA recently reported the sighting of 161 whales off the coast of Massachusetts, including Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, on June 11. Among the whales spotted were 36 humpbacks and two orcas, one of which was seen with a tuna in its mouth. This dazzling event occurred in a single day and included various species of whales.
