The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) have jointly recommended the extension of the Silver Line 3 (SL3) service. The proposed extension would stretch from its current terminus in Chelsea to Sullivan Square station via Everett. This initiative, as outlined in the Silver Line Extension Alternatives Analysis final report, is projected to attract over 15,000 additional daily riders to the SL3 route. The recommendation is part of efforts to enhance public transportation connectivity and to accommodate growing transit demands in the region.
