An Irish firefighter, identified as Terrence Crosbie, 37, was charged with raping a 28-year-old woman at the Omni Parker House hotel in downtown Boston during the St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Crosbie, a married father of two who was in town to march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade, was apprehended by police as he attempted to flee on a plane bound for Dublin from Logan Airport. The police pulled him off the plane just before takeoff. Following the incident, the Dublin Fire Brigade has placed Crosbie on leave amid the ongoing investigation. Disturbingly, prior to his arrest, Crosbie had made unsettling comments on Twitter, including a threat to 'rupture' his wife's cervix and expressing a desire to visit the 'most underreported rape capital of Europe'. During the assault, Crosbie allegedly told the victim, 'I know you want this'.
