Earlier this month in Connecticut, a pair of black vultures initially feared to be dying were found to be intoxicated after consuming fermented fruit from discarded cocktail drinks. The birds, discovered in a dumpster, exhibited symptoms such as inability to balance and appearing to pass out, leading wildlife officials to initially suspect severe illness. However, upon further examination, it was determined that the vultures were merely drunk. They were taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center where they were fed and allowed to sober up before being released back into the wild.
