A Boston man has been charged with civil rights violations in connection to a series of antisemitic acts targeting the Jewish community in Newton. The incidents, which occurred in April, involved the suspect allegedly driving around Newton threatening individuals he believed were Jewish, harassing residents, and tearing down blue ribbons from trees on the grounds of a Jewish Community Center. The man also defaced the Jewish Community Center. He appeared in Newton District Court following his arrest.
