The AI model used in the study was significantly less predictive for depression in Black people who use Meta Platforms' Facebook compared to white individuals. Additionally, social media use has been linked to social anxiety, with a stronger correlation in studies that include greater age and racial diversity as well as more reliable measures of social media use.
