Copas, a highly regarded Tijuana-style taqueria in San Francisco, is set to close this weekend despite its acclaim and inclusion in the Chronicle's list of the 25 best restaurants in the Bay Area. The decision to close was driven by financial reasons, as the numbers simply did not add up, according to one of the owners. In Phoenix, Barrio Café, a staple for 22 years, is also closing its doors. Chef Silvana, the owner, cited retirement and other personal reasons for the closure in an interview with ABC15.
