The Phoenix Zoo is mourning the loss of Boboo, its beloved African male lion, who was euthanized on June 29 after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. The cancer, which attacked Boboo's kidneys and spleen, was so aggressive that he had shown no signs of illness just a month ago. Boboo was the zoo's only adult male lion and had fathered cubs during his time at the zoo. The staff and visitors are deeply saddened by his passing.
