The Gila River Indian Community in Arizona has issued a temporary ban on dances after a tribal police officer was fatally shot and another wounded while responding to a reported disturbance. An Arizona man and a minor have been arrested in connection with the shooting, which occurred on Saturday and also resulted in the death of a bystander. The fallen officer will be escorted by first responders in Phoenix. Governor Stephen Roe Lewis identified the second victim as 23-year-old Alicen Apkaw.
