A temporary dip in temperatures this weekend will provide some relief from the recent heatwave across Arizona and California. However, temperatures are expected to climb again early next week. In Arizona, temperatures at PHX Sky Harbor Airport reached 108 degrees, 5 degrees above normal, and are expected to approach or exceed 110 degrees by midweek. An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for much of south-central Arizona from Tuesday through Thursday. In California, temperatures will also rise, with some areas exceeding 90 degrees, especially across the East Bay Hills and parts of San Benito County, and inland locations reaching into the low 100s. A Heat Advisory is in place for the interior valleys and mountains on Tuesday. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and take precautions against the heat.
