A recent study has revealed that artificial intelligence (AI) can outperform university students in exams, raising significant concerns over the integrity of remote examinations. Researchers at Reading University secretly submitted 33 AI-generated exam answers to take-home exams for Psychology BSc. The findings showed that 94% of these AI submissions went undetected and consistently outperformed human students, averaging half a grade higher. Only 6% of the AI fakes were detected, and AI achieved better results than 80% of university undergraduates. The lack of automated methods to detect AI usage and the absence of clear policies on AI use in academic settings further exacerbate the issue.
What do you think of this? "University exams taken by fake students using artificial intelligence beat those by real students and usually went undetected by markers." https://t.co/LTVpTgefHy Do we need to double down on exams, or is there another way? I'd love to hear your…

AI-generated exam submissions evade detection at reputable university British researchers put the examinations system of a UK university up against a series of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated submissions and it failed to detect almost all of them. The researchers… https://t.co/3qkVz4gEVX

Remarkable study on AI cheating out today. Researchers at Reading uni fooled the university's own markers by submitting fake AI-generated responses to take-home exams for Psychology BSc. * Only 6% of the AI fakes were detected * They averaged half a grade better than humans

No surprise. 1) Your students use AI. 2) There's no automated way to catch it with high probability. 3) In the avg. class, smart student w/ AI doing their assignments fully can get at least an avg. grade. 4) Most universities don't even have policy about what AI use is "cheating" https://t.co/nNG3dQtN5q
