Sony, Canon, and Nikon are working on digital signature technology for future cameras to combat the rise of AI-generated fake images. This move comes as concerns grow over the trustworthiness of real images in the AI age, with various forms of media such as photos, videos, and audio recordings being questioned for authenticity. The development of new technologies to authenticate photos is being discussed in the tech community.

As long as itβs an image, it could be AI generated! π€·ββοΈ https://t.co/PyKIxnHBkF
The flipside of everything being fakable in the AI age, is that the real will no longer be trusted. Verification photos, cell phone video, security footage, audio recordings, phone calls, zoom calls -- all will be questioned with, "this could be AI." It's going to get weird.
It's been obvious to most who know technology that the problem of AI generated images will force us to develope tech that is much less prone to being faked. Soon our images will be much more verifiable than before AI imo https://t.co/PRY93xUDp5
