Intel has launched its latest Xeon 6 processors, code-named Sierra Forest, at Computex 2024. These processors feature E-cores designed to modernize data centers and accelerate enterprise AI workloads. The Xeon 6 processors promise improved workload efficiency and lower power consumption, freeing up compute capacity and infrastructure for AI projects. Notably, the top-end 6780E model offers 144 cores, achieving up to 3.6x higher integer throughput performance compared to previous generations. Additionally, the new Xeon 6 processors provide twice the throughput performance and 19 to 43 percent better cost-efficiency than the Emerald Rapids Xeon SP. Intel also revealed the Gaudi 3.
