Google has widened access to Veo 3, its most advanced text-to-video model, making the tool available to paying Gemini app subscribers in 159 countries. The rollout, confirmed on 3 July, extends the service beyond the United States for the first time, covering major markets such as India, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
Veo 3 had initially been restricted to the top-tier AI Ultra plan at US$249.99 a month. Google now offers a ‘Veo 3 Fast’ version on the US$19.99-per-month AI Pro tier, enabling users to generate up to three eight-second clips a day at 720p resolution. Backend optimisations have halved rendering times compared with earlier previews.
The model produces video with native audio, including dialogue, ambient sounds and music, and supports lip-sync. All outputs carry a visible watermark and an invisible SynthID tag to help identify AI-generated material, a safeguard introduced amid rising concerns over deepfakes and misinformation.
By easing price and access barriers, Google positions Veo 3 as an alternative to rival systems such as OpenAI’s Sora, while seeking to broaden adoption among content creators, educators and marketers worldwide.
