MicroStrategy Buys $180M in Bitcoin, Total 555,450 BTC Worth $52B; Funds via $21B Stock Offering, Launches AI Securities

MicroStrategy, led by Michael Saylor, has continued its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy, purchasing an additional 1,895 Bitcoins between April 28 and May 4 at an average price of $95,167 per Bitcoin, amounting to approximately $180.3 million. This latest purchase brings MicroStrategy's total Bitcoin holdings to 555,450 coins, with an overall average acquisition price of about $68,550 per Bitcoin. The company’s Bitcoin assets are valued at nearly $52 billion. In its May 2 earnings report, MicroStrategy disclosed revenue of $111.1 million. To fund its Bitcoin acquisitions, MicroStrategy recently completed a $21 billion stock offering. Michael Saylor has revealed that he employs AI tools, including ChatGPT, to assist in company decisions and to design innovative securities, with the company’s $STRK and $STRF offerings described as the first AI-designed securities. Saylor has outlined an ambitious $84 billion plan, termed the "42/42 Plan," aimed at acquiring nearly 7% of all Bitcoin in existence by leveraging Wall Street financing rather than direct Bitcoin purchases. He has publicly advocated for large corporations, such as Microsoft, to invest heavily in Bitcoin, suggesting a $75 billion purchase, and has positioned Bitcoin as a disruptive force targeting the $133 trillion corporate bond market. Saylor also emphasized Bitcoin’s superiority over gold and highlighted strategies to multiply investment returns through leverage and external capital.
