Elon Musk’s xAI to Release Grok 4 AI With Coding Model, Human Knowledge Rewrite, and Leaked Benchmarks After July 4

Elon Musk and his xAI team are preparing to release Grok 4, the latest iteration of their AI language model, shortly after July 4, 2025. Grok 4 is designed to be a more advanced and intelligent model, with capabilities to rewrite and correct the entire corpus of human knowledge by fixing errors, filling gaps, and retraining on cleaner data. The release will include at least two models: Grok 4, an all-rounder in language, math, and reasoning, and Grok 4 Code, specialized for software engineering tasks and development. Early leaked benchmarks indicate Grok 4 achieves 35% on the Humanity's Last Exam (HLE) benchmark, improving to 45% with reasoning, 87-88% on the GPQA benchmark, and 72-75% on the SWE Bench for Grok 4 Code, suggesting it could be a state-of-the-art model surpassing competitors like OpenAI's GPT-4.

Elon Musk has personally been involved in the final training runs and development, emphasizing improved accuracy and performance. The Grok 4 upgrade follows previous versions, including Grok 3.5, which Musk said would rewrite human knowledge to address biases and errors in existing AI training data. xAI has also recently released a Python SDK and started rolling out shared files on Grok Web, indicating ongoing platform enhancements.
